Her følger fjerde brev fra vor udsendte medarbejder i Skotland.

Oversat tekst:

On a visit in the old country
Here follows the fourth letter from our co-worker stationed in Scotland. He PARTICIPATES  in a trip that is arranged by The national Scottish tourist bureau for Scottish-Americans.
Today we drive through the Scottish highlands, which is something completely special!
The tourist guide, who knows a lot about our old country’s history, tells us about all the events, which took place here back in the days. We all listen interestingly, specially the ones of us, whose forefathers are those who so bravely fought against the Englishmen several hundred years ago. What specially appeals to us is the narrative of the battle by Culloden, where Bonnie Prince Charles were defeated, which caused that the Scottish were no longer allowed to bear arms or to wear kilts. A young girl whose name was Flora MacDonald helped Prince Charles to escape disguised as a girl. Flora, who the Englishmen arrested and placed in Tower, married after her release a Scottish man, with whom she later travelled to America.
America was the land of opportunities for the many people who wished to leave their homeland of political, FINANCIAL  and religious reasons.
“Many of your great-great-grandparents, who travelled to America to pursue freedom, however formed religious societies, which placed narrow limitations on the individual’s udfoldelse (jeg har ikke kunne finde en oversættelse af ordet), which may be found paradoxically!” says the tourist guide ironically. But we can tell him that it is not like that anymore back home in the states

The tourist guide, (who knows a lot) which gives the reader much information about our old country’s history, tells us about all the events, which took place here back in the days???. We all listen (interestingly) with interest, especially (the ones) those of us(,) whose forefathers (are those who) so bravely fought (against) the English(men) several hundred years ago. America was the land of opportunities for the many people who wished to leave their homeland (of) for political, FINANCIAL  (and) or religious reasons.
