Abstract:

This project investigates how a company can optimize their capacity and the possibility for expansion. This paper examines a fictitious company and their possibility by optimizing their capacity and their possibility for expansion. The focus will be on whether the company can optimize their capacity with a shortage in capacity. The methods will be a business economy method and two mathematic methods.  Through an analysis of the possibilities to optimize the capacity with a shortage on capacity, the methods conditions and usefulness in practice are discussed. Furthermore the possibility for expansion is estimated. Based on the analysis the conclusion can be drawn, that the two mathematic methods are more exact, than the method in business economy. However there are some conditions for all three methods and none of them can be used independent in a company, because it is a ceteris paribus.
