This paper examines the grief and crisis that occur in the life of the human being. A crisis can occur [IN] many different ways, it can have different degrees and symptoms. Everyone experience a sort of grief in their life, but it does not [RESULT IN] a crisis. The people who experience a crisis will always meet some kind of grief. The first part of the paper is an exposition on the psychological theory, with a specific view on grief, traumatic crisis, PTSD; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and coping strategies. This part is mainly based on theory books. The second part is an [ANALYSIS] and an interpretation of the non-fiction novel, Ordinary People, in which the psychological theories are included. On [SLET "THE"] basis of this part, it is clear that the family in the novel, with a special view on the main character, Conrad, is an example of a person in a chronic traumatic crisis, his crisis began when his brother died in an accident. The third part discusses the different factors in why people respond dissimilar on the same event. Different events unleash different reactions on every people because of factors as the upbringing, the experiences in life, and the people around [TILFØJE "THEM"]. Some people are vulnerable and some are resistant to the different proceedings in life. It is about finding the correct coping strategies.
