Slaveri i USA

Ligesom med mange andre historiske begivenheder er der ingen præcis dato/årstal for hverken begyndelsen eller slutningen på slaveriet i USA. Det afhænger også af, hvordan man definerer slaveriet.

I 1619 blev der i hvert fald leveret et læsfuld afrikanske slaver til kolonierne, men der har sandsynligvis været tidligere tilfælde. Inden da blev mange indfødte amerikanere (indianere) brugt som slaver, og mon ikke dette havde stået på siden den allerførste kolonisering.

Hvis man SKAL sætte et årstal på afslutningen på slaveriet, så kunne 1865 være et bud. Men her er tale om en lov, altså hvordan tingene BØR være. Det betyder ikke at det nødvendigvis har været sådan i praksis. Herefter var der desuden også en anden type slaveri, der var fuldt lovlig, nemlig at "købe" straffefanger og holde dem som slaver. Forskellen var dog, at dette var et tidsbestemt arrangement. Størstedelen af de "købte" straffefanger var sorte amerikanere.

How it all started the American civil wars. It was a bloodbath, of 600.00 people were killed. The war lasted 4 years. Initially dominated the South, they were actually gaining, so the CSA would be an independent state. Lincoln was smart he did slavery to the civil war mainly, and south was the advocate of slavery. Northern States withdrew from the victorious men.

The slaves were free, but what could they do with it? They could not read, had not some places and go away, no food. They had actually been much worse off. The colored were forced to take the work they could get. Now they still worked for the whites, who still treat them badly. It was made laws of segregation. Jim Crow laws. Promising was to colored and white should be segregated in public places.
