Side 2 - Engelsk opgave

Alex feels that he is been treated like a kid. He grows up. It is difficult for him, because his parents think that he still is a little boy. At the beginning of the story his mother waited in the car for Alex.  She had brought a dress, because she is having a program at afternoon. Alex asked about the dress, if it was new, she told him it is for the special night, to night. Alex knows that his mom is going out to the place called Vernie Sadge. Alex is at home and he is getting babysat by his babysitter. He does not like the babysitter, but the only reason that he sometimes like the babysitter is when his mother forced him to do homework. His parents think that he cannot take care of himself.

Every time when he eats the banana sandwich, it irritates him because, it makes him feel like he still is a little boy. He does not want to eat the banana sandwich, because he is getting to old for it.

MEGET bedre, og meget mere forståeligt. Jeg har måske ændret, nogle af dine sætninger. Har bare ændret det jeg kunne for at få det til at lyde det DU havde i tankerne.

Her er mit foreslag til, hvordan det ville lyde bedre. Kan stadig ikke rigtig forstå, hvad du prøver at udtrykke i de tre sidste sætninger af dit resume. Kunne du evt. skrive det på dansk?

Og det er Shelly, der bliver gift, ikke? 

Shelly is the main character of the story. She is an understating person who cares about her parents. She loves her parents a lot and the bond between her and her parents is very strong. After she gets informed about the fact that her mother has been diagnosed with tongue cancer she grows a lot closer to her mother. Shelly's mother gets informed about her cancer diagnosis when she is 51 years old. Shelly is worried about her father, since she knows how much he loves his wife. After having been diagnosed, Shelly’s mom faces a lot of cancer treatments. This is difficult for Shelly's mother and she faces a lot of negative side effects as a result of the treatments. For instance, she loses her voice as a result of one of the treatments. It is hard for Shelly to see her mother suffer like this. Shelly’s mom makes the decision to stop the treatments because she cannot tolerate to have her daughter see her in such a condition. A few days later Shelly gets married to a boy who has a very attractive personality. Some days after her weeding her mother passed away. Due to her mother’s deatn, Shelly gets very upset and cries a lot. She finds comfort in the fact that she realized that her mother was dying a while ago, however, she still gets emotional when she is thinking about her mother. At the end of the story, Shelly and her husband go to a Chinese restaurant where they talk with the pretty waitress about Shelly's mom and they mention the times that they have had spend together with Shelly's mom. Shelly's husband holds a speech to Shelly's father in which he mentions the picture that they had taken many years ago. The whole family is happy that Shelly`s mother is relieved now.

Synes det lyder meget bedre, jeg øvet mig rigtig meget her i sommerferie. Og du skriver at min anden opgave var meget bedre, det er virkelig høre, at min hårde arbejde at givet en bedre resultat, vil lige høre at der stadig væk er grammatik fejl?

#27: Ikke alvorlige fejl. Bare mere forkerte gloser/udtryk, komma fejl og enkelte danismer her og der. 

Og det hedder: he is still a little boy. Du aldrig adskille he/she + to be ved at sætte et andet ord i midten.

Det vil hjælpe dig med at tænke på engelsk, når du skriver. Du kunne også evt. læse nogle engelsk bøger for børn. Disse er letlæselige, og du vil lære at kunne udtrykke dig bedre på engelsk ved at læse dem.

This is difficult for (Shelly's mother) her (and she faces a lot of negative side effects as a result of the treatments) as she also must expect  many side effects. (For instance), one of them being losing (loses) her voice (as a result of one of the treatments). It is hard (for) on Shelly to (see) watch her mother suffer (like this) so much. (Shelly’s) Her mom makes the decision to stop the treatments because she cannot (tolerate) bear (to have) that her daughter sees her in such a condition. A few days later Shelly gets married to a (boy) young man (who has) with a very attractive personality. (Some) A few days after her (weeding) wedding her mother passed away. (Due to her mother’s deatn,) Shelly (gets very upset and (cries a lot) is distraught over her mother's death and often breaks into tears. She finds comfort in the fact that she realized that her mother was dying a while ago???? , however, she still gets emotional when (she is) thinking about her (mother). At the end of the story, Shelly and her husband go to a Chinese restaurant where they (talk) are having a conversation with the pretty waitress about Shelly's mom/mum and they (mention) tell her about the many (times that they have had spend TOGETHER) good experiences they have shared with (Shelly's mom) her. Shelly's husband (holds) makes a speech (to) for Shelly's father in which he mentions (the picture) a photo that they (had taken) took many years ago. The whole family (is) are happy that Shelly`s mother (is relieved) has finally found peace (now).
