Chicken Tikka
In his famous “Chicken Tikka Masala” speech, Robin Cook, the former foreign minister of the Labour party, tries to convince the Britons that multiculturalism is not just alone important for the country’s economic and international competitive power, but also is alpha and omega in the international identity. With a delighted enthusiasm for the multiculturalism’s fertility and creativity, Cook attacks in the fear of that UK is under siege, in a condition of decline and finally not a white country anymore. I suppose that his most important argument is that the Britons had never been a homogeneous race, which until now has avoided being pollution of foreigners. On the contrary, the Britons, are people who, up through the history, are made by many foreigner waves – from Celts, Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings to Normans. The immigration today is only one more wave of abroad influence, which continuing the historic development of humans on the British islands.
