Task 1: Translation

In his famous “Chicken Tikka Masala” speech, Robin Cook, the former foreign minister of the Labour party, tries to convince the Britons that multiculturalism is not just alone important for the country’s economic and international competitive power, but also is alpha and omega in the international identity. With a delighted enthusiasm for the multiculturalism’s fertility and creativity, Cook attacks in the fear of that UK is under siege, in a condition of decline and finally not a white country anymore. I suppose that his most important argument is that the Britons had never been a homogeneous race, which until now has avoided being pollution of foreigners. On the contrary, the Britons, are people who, up through the history, are made by many foreigner waves – from Celts, Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings to Normans. The immigration today is only one more wave of abroad influence, which continuing the historic development of humans on the British islands.

Task 2: Discussion

3. To what extent our immigrants and multiculturalism a part of the international image of your country? Consider whether the international  image of your country is a strong or a weak image in the competition for global success.
Denmark is a country like many other country’s which is touch by racism. We have border controls, and to be a Danish citizen you have to pass a test where you should know things even people who have lived in Denmark their entire life wouldn’t know.
If you decides to get married in another country with an Inner for example, and afterwards wants to move to Denmark with your wife or husband and live there for the rest of your life, you of cause have to search residence permit for your wife or husband, and might not get it in many cases. Denmark have just got a new government so stuff like border controls will hopefully be removed now. It transmit signals about racism and that we don't want to globalize or cooperate with the rest of the world.
Besides that a lot of people are against border controls and the point system, and support the immigrants who comes to Denmark. Many people wants to have more equality in Denmark, and by supporting the immigrants with money and educations there will definitely be more equality.
It is important to every country that there are different cultures and I think the future is bright for Denmark and the rest of the world. People is starting to realize that a country can't be independent.

Det vil være dejligt hvis der er en der vil rette den igennem, det behøver ikke være noget dybdeborende, vil bare gerne rette de værste fejl, det vil være en kæmpe hjælp!
