hej alle sammen, jeg har for første gang skrevet en paper i engelsk, så jeg ville spørge om det er rigtig skrevet, ik det grammatiske, men mere om det er en paper :)

”New Narcissism”
The phenomenon ”New Narcissism”
The phenomenon ”New Narcissism”
We get a description of the phenomenon “New Narcissism” in text 1, Me, Me, Me, by Sarfraz Manzoor. Youths today are more selfish, they think that they are interesting to everyone else in the world.
An example Manzoor uses is Chris Crocker. Crocker is a big Britney fanatic; he has shared his opinions about Britney with the whole world in the video “leave Britney alone!” on the video-website Youtube. Manzoor cannot understand why the video Crocker had made has been watched more than 12 million times, and he finds it difficult to understand why so many people want to hear about Crocker's opinion about Britney.
Even though the young generations are a big part of “Generation Me”, they are not the only, because the typical buyer of cosmetic surgery is a middle class man in his early forties….
There are many people who think that they can become famous through a reality show because they believe that they really are interesting and special. An example of this is “The X Factor”, to which many people who think that they are a good singer sign up. They all believe they have the potential to be the winner, but more than 15.000 people have signed up without success.
A minimum  of talent is required if you wish to take stage in live shows on television, which is why Internet sites likes Facebook become popular all over the world. In sites like Facebook no one can tell you that you are not good enough because you control your own account, so you can decide which people can watch your profile, and which people can write to you. So it is a site about you, with your rules.
Manzoor writes “Apparently, of the 120,000 new blogs created every day, 50 per cent focus on exactly the same subject: the blogger him or herself.”(p. 4, l. 88-90). From this quote can we conclude that the reason the reader wants to read these blogs is that (the) a blog is a mirror In this way we actually think about ourselves while reading about other people. Therefore we are all part of the “me” community which is categorized as “New Narcissists”.
The views on narcissism presented in text 2 and text 3

The views on narcissism presented in text 2 and text 3
Text 2 is written by Janice McDuffee. Janice quotes professor Jean Twenge of San Diego University for her declaration of “Generation Me”. MCDuffee presents a sort of narcissism which is dangerous, a narcissism that make us miserable, McDuffee says that: “This is a time of soaring expectations and crushing realities.” (p. 5, l. 24). It is like saying the higher you fly, the deeper you fall. Youth people today have high expectations for themselves, but the chance of failure is big so they are actually a victim of their own expectations. McDuffe means that the parents also have responsibility, and we can see that in this quote: “Twenge speculates that child-rearing is to blame, and parents should quit coddling their children because children are self-centered as it is.” (p. 5, l. 13-14).
Text 3, is written By Catherine West, she uses many persons and declarations to fund her opinion of non existing “Generation Me”. Compared to McDuffee she is not characterizing narcissism as a self-destructive phenomenon, but says that it is qualities like: “characteristics like arrogance, exhibitionism, and a sense of entitlement.” (p. 6, l. 12).
She says that there is actually no difference of the levels of narcissism during the period from 1970s to 2007. She (are  writing) writes about Jimmy Carter and three psychologists, who all agree that there is no difference of levels  of narcissism, so this generation is no more self-centered and narcissistic than other generations. West ends her press release by saying: “the youth of America have won a reprieve from being scolded as more aloof and self-involved than previous generations.” (p. 6, l. 27-28).
Actually McDuffee does not state her own opinion, but rather gives a summary of the book Generation Me by Professor Jean Twenge. We can assume that McDuffee has the same point of view as the professors and that she does not question Twenge.
Both articles are written by professors or psychologists, and they are both subjectively written by the author, even though West uses many different sources exploring the question of narcissism from only one viewpoint.
Social networks like Facebook and MySpace – useful tools of communication, or not?
Social network sites as Facebook and MySpace had become very popular, especially Facebook.
The social network sites are good to keep the contact with our friends, we live far away from, or we maybe have no time to see. So it is a really good way to keep in touch with our friend and family, we not see everyday, but the problem with sites like Facebook, is that, many people uses several hours per day, to check out what their friends are doing. Instead of using this time on Facebook, could we spend it with our family, or best friends near by us.
I will say that, Facebook is a good way to communicate with our friends, but it must not fill to much in our everyday, because then you will be online in the social network site, but offline in the real life. So it is important to, not spend so much time at Facebook every day. Time is important and it should be spent on important things like our family, or maybe homework.
So all in all, Facebook is a good supplement to our everyday life, but it must not be our everyday life.
