Jeg skulle skrive et summary af Ernest Hemningsway, The Indinan Camp.

Indian Camp is a story written by Ernest Hemingway. The story is about a boy called Nick, his father and his Uncle George.

They are getting rowed across the lake by two Indians males. Nick’s father tells him that they are going to the Indian camp, because a woman there is sick. On the other side of the lake they walk though a logging road, following the Indian. They turn around a bend and arrive to the shanties. Inside the first shanty, screams the young Indian woman. She has been in labour for two days and she couldn’t get enough help from the old women. She lies in the lower bunk. Her husband is lying in the upper bunk.

Nicks father explains to Nick that his only option, is to perform a caesarean operation on her with his jackknife and sew it up with nine-foot tapered gut leaders, without any anaesthetic. Nicks father boils some water to wash his hands and sterilise several things.  He to uses the jacket knife to perform a caesarean on her, as Uncle George and some Indian men hold the woman down, while Nicks stands beside, and looks away so he can’t see what his father is doing with the placenta.

Nick’s father felt very elated to have performed a Caesarian. A few minutes later, he was going to check on the husband. But he discovered something unusual. The screams of his wife was enough to make the husband commit suicide. Nick’s father then wants to leave the camp along with Nick. As Nick is sitting in the boat with his father rowing, he asks a lot of questions about death, labour, and suicide. The conversation makes Nick believe he can't die.
