"We are the change we want", said Barack Obama about himself and the United States. The American voters showed yesterday that they agreed. With roots in Kansas and Kenya, and with a diploma from Harvard, represent the nation's first African-American president an America that once again dare to dream.
"I'm sufficiently new to the national scene that people of different political persuasions can project their own views onto me like a empty screen. In this sense, I invariably get to disappoint some, if not all.
So wrote Barack Obama in his book on to hope from 2006. At that time he was working on his only two years as a senator for the state of Illinois. After nearly two years of campaigning, that yesterday ended in victory in the battle for the presidency, the words are still relevant. Obama is more than anything a screen like the United States reflects its own best sides in. He has over the last two years has been America's dream of itself.

"We are the change we seek" Barack Obama said about himself and the US. Yesterday, the American electors showed that they agree. With roots in Kansas and Kenya and a diploma from Harvard, the nations first Afro-American president represents a America who once again dares to dream.
"I am new enough on the national political scene, that I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views. As such, I am bound to disappoint some, if not all, of them."
Obama wrote this in his 2006 book "The Audacity of Hope". Back then he was on his second year as the Senator of Illinois. After roughly 2 years of political campaigning which yesterday led to victory in the batlle of presidency, his words is still revelant. Obama is more than anything a blank screen, in which the US can mirror it's best sides in. He has over the last two years become America's dream of itself.
