Oversat tekst:
Sitting Bull was one of the most well-known chief Indians in North America. He was born approximately in1834 and belonged to the Hunkpapa Teton Sioux, who lived in the prairie. In his youth, Sitting Bull decided to fight the White Man and he never changed his mind. After the battle in 1865 at the Power river, where many of his men lost their life, he realized though, that all their bravery and fighting spirit was wasted, if they only had arches and arrows to fight with; the difference between the soldiers and the Indianans weapons was too big. The Indians only wished to live in peace, and The Great Father, as USA’s president was called, also promised it time and again, but his promises were never held. One of the best well-known examples is the fight of the Black Hills. In a treaty from 1869 there was written, that the holy area belonged to the Indians. But four years later, when there was found gold, there was more than thousands of white men soon to enter the area. The Indians protested unfortunately and denied to sell the area, and in 1876 began the war, who the Indians lost. But they won an important battle at the Little Bighorn river. One of general Custers officers succeeded to surprise (andet ord for det?) Sitting Bulls camp, but Sitting Bull remained cool. He quickly gathered all of his men, and Custers army was totally beated. General Custer, or “Long Hair” as he were called by his enemies, was later found with many wounds on the body.

in the prairie > on the...
lost their life > lost their lives
arches > bows
time and again > time and time again
were never held > were never kept
there was written > it was written
when there was found gold > when gold was found
there was more than thousands of white men soon to enter > more than a thousand of white men soon entered
began the war, who > the war began, which
surprise > evt. ambush

"arches and arrows" måske?

Arches and arrows er flertal, ikke genitiv.
