Khaled from Afghanistan said:
>>They do not offend me personally, because I am not so religious. The cartoon with the bomb in the turban is placing all Muslims in the same label, I think; that they are terrorists.
But I can still not understand how it can get people in the Middle East to react so violent.
The students were agreeing that the freedom of expression is completely basic in Denmark.
Rasmus with Danish background:
>> I just think, that it happens, when we in this country talks about the freedom of expression, then they suddenly talks about religion I the Middle East.
Walla with Egyptian/ Palestinian background:
>>It is Jyllands-Posten, who mix religion and freedom of expression together, because the paper have just in Muhammed taken a very religious symbol and used in the cartoons. Therefore I looked away, when you showed me the cartoon. When I saw Mel Gibsons Jesus-Movie, I also looked down, when he got hit, because I don not like to se figure get hit in that way.
Karen with Danish background:
>> I think, it is a very important discussion, but it was not necessary to bring the cartoons, to bring up this discussion about freedom of expression and self-censorship.
Sofie with dansih background:
>>I do not understand, why those Imamer had to travel to the Middle East, as I understood it, then it the Jyllands-Posten initiative is about self-censorship in Denmark and not in the Middle East. So what should they do down there?
Tak på fohånd

The cartoon... --> I think the cartoon with the bomb in the turban brackets all Muslims with terrorists.
how it --> el: how this
react so violently --> react so angrily.
I just think... --> slet "just"
that when.... --> el: that which happens when we.....is that.....(lægger nok tættere på det danske, men er ikke mere engelsk)
they talk about in the Middle East --> el: people in the Middle East talk about....
confuses..... ---> el: confuses...and....
Therefore... --> el: That is why is did not look when you....
being that way --> being treated that way.
but it was not... --> but it was perhaps not necessary to print (the) cartoon...
I do not understand... --> el: I cannot see why....
