The United States stretch to 4500 kilometers from the east to the west and covers non the less than nine million square kilometers. When you travel through the United States you meet climates of any kind and all kinds of people.
Since 1620 people from every part of the world have arrived to America to settle down there. Some have arrived from Europe, Canada and Africa, others from South America Australia and Asia. Each one of them have arrived hoping to be rich and happy in America.
It is a big question whether America ever has become the melting pot as America for a long time has been called. In a melting pot all of the ingredients fuse together into a substance. Today you talk about America as a salad bowl, in which all of the ingredients, each one of them, keeps their own identity. It is definitely sure that the 232 millions, who live in USA, have a widely different derivation and it is also sure that they live under totally different conditions. Approximately one fourth live in the rural areas, whereas three fourth lives in a city. This causes a lot of troubles in the cities.
There are 50 states, each one has its own law, so what is legal in one state may very well be illegal in another. You do not have to show your passport to go from one state and into another, but you could be stopped by the boarder to California by someone, who wants to know if you are carrying vegetables.

When you travel through the United States, you meet climates and people of every description.
Since 1960, people have come from all over the world to settle in the USA. Some have come from Europe, Canada and Afrika, others from South America, Australia and Asia.
Every single one of them has come in the hope that they would become rich and happy in the USA.
It is a big question whether or not the USA has ever become the "melting pot", it has been referred to for a long time now.
In a melting pot, all ingredients melt together into a substance.
If anything, the USA is today known as a "salad bowl" where all ingredients keep their own identity.
Indeed, it is certain that the 232 million people living in the USA are of different origin, and it is also a fact that they live under very different conditions.
About a fourth live in rural districts, while a third live in the big cities.
This offers a lot of problems for the big cities.
There are 50 states, each with their own laws; so what is legal in one state may turn out to be illegal in another.
You do not have to show a passport in order to go from one state to another, but it is possible to be stopped at the border to California by someone wanting to know if you are carrying vegetables.
