The guilt
The story about an old women and a young black guy in her house. The
name of the old women is Lillian Thurgwood, who is a widow. She lives
alone in a house, which the wall round the property teen feet high, and
the gates are locked. The young black name is William Sidlayi.
One day William knocked Lillian’s door and said that he looking for
work, but Lillian said that she does not any work.
But she said to him that he can wait in at the gate for a moments, and she
walked in the house again. She remembered about the African women
and another women how need also help. She would like to help the poor
people, but there live criminal in the town. She can not trust all people.
When Lillian’s thought returned to the young man waiting at the gate,
and she look her purse there is only five-rand. It is difficult that give all
money to William, therefore she is little angry with herself. She decided
that she will give him five rand. But William doesn’t accept it, he wants
to clean the garden for this money he wants to take from Lillian. When
he finished, he wants ten rand for the work he did. Lillian said that she
wants to ask her husband. She laid to him, because her husband was dead.
William who was a stranger and attempting to hide the helplessness of a
widow who is old and not well protected from the strange world outside
by using her husband’s name as a defence. When she come back, she said
that she can’t give him ten rand. He shall leave her house, but he
wouldn’t left the house before he get his money.
First she command the dog, and after point the gun down at him.
He began to ran away. She take a deep breath and then went inside.
