Danmark er i dag det førende land i verden med hensyn til anvendelsen af vindkraft. Over 3.000 vindmøller er allerede opstillet, og tallet vokser støt. Europas største vindmøllepark, som ligger på den jyske vestkyst, der er det ideelle sted til at udnytte vindens energi, producerer elektricitet nok til en by på omkring 10.000 indbyggere.
Ud over at producere billig energi er vindmøllerne med til at reducere den mængde kul og olie, der forbrændes af kraftværkerne. Dette er naturligvis af stor betydning for miljøet, og samtidig medvirker det til at begrænse følgerne af den såkaldte drivhuseffekt.

Now-a-days Denmark is the leading country in the world concerning? the use of wind power. Over 3.000 windmills are already mounted/placed/(set up) and the number is increasing steadily. The biggest wind farm in Europe, which is located on the Jutlandic coast, which is the ideal place to utilize(?) the wind’s energy, produces enough electricity for a city with around 10.000 inhabitants.
Besides producing cheap energy the windmills are aiding in reducing the amount of carbon and oil which is burned/incinerated/combusted by the power plants. Of course this is of great importance for the environment and at the same time contributes/take part in limiting/reducing the consequences of the so-called greenhouse effect.
