Et godt Summary?
Jeg har gjort det første meget slavisk og beskrevet handlingen stykke for stykke, mens jeg i det sidste har prøvet at skære mere ind til "benene"..
Kom endeligt med nogle tanker, rettelser og ideer :)
Gatsby has stopped throwing huge parties and explains to Nick that the reason is that Daisy dislikes them. Daisy and Gatsby see each other often, and Daisy invites Jordan, Nick and Gatsby over to the Buchanan’s house. It is at this point Tom becomes aware of the fact that Daisy and Gatsby have feelings towards each other. The group decides, after some quarrels, to go to New York. Daisy drives with Gatsby, and Nick and Jordan with Tom. The latter drives around Mr. Wilson’s garage (Mr. Wilson is ill), where Tom learns that Mr. Wilson has discovered that Myrtle is having an affair – just not with whom. Tom and Mr. Wilson have both discovered their wives being unfaithful, but react very differently.
It comes to a confrontation in The Plaza Hotel in N.Y, where Nick and Gatsby fight about Daisy. Gatsby and Daisy drives to Tom and Daisy’s house, but accidentally kill Myrtle on the way back home as she is running out in front of the car. Tom discovers that it was Gatsby and Daisy who killed her accidentally.
In chapter 7 a confrontation takes place in the Plaza Hotel in New York, where Tom, Daisy, Nick, Jordan and Gatsby (who has stopped hosting parties since Daisy didn’t like them) have driven to (Gatsby and Daisy in a car alone). On the way Tom learns that Mr. Wilson has discovered that Myrtle is having an affair – just not with whom. Mr. Wilson is practically ill, while Tom (who has been in the same situation just a couple of hours before, when he realised the love between Gatsby and Daisy) doesn’t show much sign of weakness.
Tom is less shaken by the fact that Daisy is having an affair, than the fact that she had it with someone of the lower class (he does not, on the other hand, see his affair with Myrtle in this light). We also learn that what Gatsby loves about Daisy’s voice is that it sounds like money
– maybe she represents the money and wealth he always desired. His motives may be far more selfish than the love of Daisy’s personality. It becomes clear in this chapter that Gatsby cannot take up the past like nothing happened, e.g. is Gatsby introduced to Daisy’s child and can’t believe that she is real.
In this chapter Daisy and Gatsby tries to take up the past, but it ends in a catastrophe; Myrtle is killed when she runs out in front of the car Daisy is driving. Tom, with Nick and Jordan in the car, drives by some time later and discovers that it must’ve been Gatsby and Daisy who had driven the car that killed Myrtle.

mvh.

1.Helhedsforståelse - Indledning/Problemstilling, Hovedbudskaber.
2.Sammenhæng.
3.Læseren kender IKKE teksten , Hvem, Hvad, Hvor, Hvornår??
4. Skrives i præsens 3 person. 200-300 ord.

Gatsby is still seizing the past at the end of the chapter where he’s standing outside the Buchanan’s house, even when Tom and Daisy has made peace in the house after the accident.
