Kære Mabel
Jeg er frygtelig ked af, at min kone er overtroisk. Der er ingen tvivl om, at hun faktisk tror på, at man ikke skal gå under en stige og sådan noget. Men situationen er blevet kritisk det sidste par uger. Hun følger sig om en skygge dag og nat. Hun har været hos en spåkone, som åbenbart har overbevist hende om, at jeg er hende utro. Til trods for at vi kun har været gift i 7 måneder, er hun naturligvis bange for, at det er sandt. Jeg vil gerne prøve på at vinde hendes tillid tilbage igen. Hvordan skal jeg overbevise hende om, at jeg ikke er som alle andre mænd?

I am terrible sorry that my wife is superstitiously. There are no doubt about that she actually believes that you may not go under a ladder and stuff like that. But the situation is getting critical the last weeks. She feels herself as a shadow day and night. She has been by a fortune who evidently has convinced her that I being her unfaithful. In spite of we only have been married for 7 months she naturally is afraid of that it is true. I want to try to restore confidence again. How shall I convince her that I am not like all the other men?

I am terribly sorry [...] superstitious. There is no doubt about the fact that she believes that you shall not [...]. But the situation has become critical the last couple of weeks. (Hun følger sig om en skygge????!)

Hov vent. Jeg læste lige den danske version, og første linie, skal lyde noget i stil med: "I am terribly sorry about the fact that my wife is superstitious." Det jeg skrev ovenover lyder som en undskyldning.
