Translation nr. 11.
My two children were in London this summer. Their grand mom, who lives in Copenhagen, paid for their travel.
They sailed from Esbjerg to Harwich, and in London they stayed on Graham Street, where they found a nice and cheap hotel.
To their surprise, the hotel was much better, than they thought, and every day, when they had eaten breakfast, they took the bus to centrum of the town. London has many sights, and they saw among other things Westminster Abbey, in which many famous men are buried. Here they met an Englishman, who asked my son, if he were American. “No” he answered, “I am Danish.”
An evening they went to the cinema, and saw a very funny film. In a letter they told us, that they understood a lot of English.

"If he were an American" er rigtig nok.
'were' er en form for konjunktiv her.
