This paper analyses “According to the Law”, which consist of four reports about the human being. The paper also examines how the human being is defined. Every report tells a story about a person who is performing a certain project. Nicholas S. wants to find a unique molecule that makes the human being walk in upright position. Tanja L. is searching for the pain. René G. is trying to become nobody. Alette V. do not wish to be human anymore, she wants to be an object. In their search to approach the human beings existentially foundation they have to isolate themselves from the rest of the world. Another book of Solvej Balle called “Lyre bird” is dealing with the same topic så der findes i opgaven en perspektivering til denne?????. Finally the paper concludes that religion, nature and individuality are fundamental for the human being.
