Hjælp til fagsprog (kemi)

Hej!

Determination of the coordination number

The purpose of this report is to determine the coordination number for the reaction between silver(I) ions and ammonia.

Every chemical reaction has an equilibrium constant. An equilibrium which contains a solid substance is called solubility equilibrium. When setting up a solubility equilibrium you do not include the solid substance. E.g.:

When a metalion is bounded to a number of ligands it is called a complex. The number of ligands determines the coordination number for the corresponding metalion. It is possible to determinate the coordination number by a mathematical formula, described in the report. The equilibrium constant for a given complex reaction is called the complexity constant, .
When the same substance has an effect on two equilibriums it is called a coupled equilibrium. There is a mathematical formula which tells how different equilibriums will react when coupled together. E.g.: When a solubility equilibrium and a complex equilibrium are coupled the coupled equilibrium constant is given by: .
The coordination number for silver(I) ions was calculated to 2.

Determination of the coordination number

The purpose of this report is to determine the coordination number of the complex formed from the reaction between silver(I) ions and ammonia.

A chemical reaction has its respective equilibrium constant. An equilibrium containing a solid substance is called a solubility equilibrium. When writing up the solubility equilibrium one does not include the solid substance.

When a metal ion is bonded to two or more ligands it is called a complex ion. The number of ligands determines the coordination number for the corresponding metalion. It is possible to determine the coordination number via a mathematical formula, described in the report. The equilibrium constant for a given complex reaction is called the complexation constant.
When the same substance affects several equilibria (in this example two), it is called a coupled equilibrium. There is a mathematical formula which describes how different equilibriums will react when coupled together. E.g.: When a solubility equilibrium and a complex equilibrium are coupled the coupled equilibrium constant is given by: .
The coordination number for silver(I) ions was estimated to be 2.

Der er nogle småfejl, aldrig, aldrig EQUILIBRIUMS! Equilibria er det rette term.
