The purpose of this assignment was to discover which forces influence any given object's movement down an inclined plane.
During a wooden block’s movement down an inclined plane it will be influenced by three forces: Gravity, the normal force and friction force. A force is an influence, which can give a mass an acceleration. Friction between two solid objects, are called dry friction, and it is caused by molecular forces. In 1687 Isaac Newton published his work Principia. He sat up three general laws of motion. These laws are fundamental for the understanding of any given object's movement down an inclined plane.
Forces are graphic represented by a vector - it has magnitude and direction. Forces can be added together using the parallelogram of force and When two forces act on an object, the resulting force is the vector sum of the original forces. Vectors co-ordinate are used to depict forces in a system of co-ordinates.
The assignment conclude, by using the parallelogram of force, vectors co-ordinate and Newtons three laws, that the resulting force is equal to zero, and that the wooden block will continue until it is influenced by
