A summery of the story Queenie:

In the story we hear about a girl, who is named Queenie Buxton. The girl went on a butchers’ association trip and thought she is go to Africa when it came to Wembley. Her teacher tells her that Africa is a country and she tells her it is just the British Empire Exhibition she went to. With her on the trip is her mother, her father and everyone from theirs farm. When they came to the British Empire Exhibition they all start a discussion about what they should see.
Queenie have to hold Emily’s hand, her mother is afraid for she gets lost.
When Emily, Graham and Qeenie come to Africa they get lost. they following the smell of chocolate and suddenly they were in the jungle and there they meet a black nigger man, who Queenie think looks very different than herself with his black skin, his flat nose and his woolly hair. Graham said that the nigger man doesn’t understood English, but he do actual. So Queenie shook an African man’s hand. Later Queenie’s father tells her not to be worry the black man she have shaking hands with have been a chief or a prince in Africa and you know when they speak English they have taught English by the white man. At last the father took Queenie and her mother with on the railway to see the wonderful view and when they right at the top the father said to Gueenie “see here, Queenie. Look around. You have got the whole world at your feet, lass” Queenie will never forget that
