It is an autumn morning in London and the beginning of a new working day for Taiken Mikkola. Together with millions of people the 18 year old Finn walks down in the Underground to begin the work of the day. But as soon as Mikkola gets down at the platform of the Underground, he takes a trumpet out and is already at work.
It is hard work for the feet and the pride, but the mood of Mikkola does not seem to harm. “London is the best place”, he says, as he looks at the faces of the passengers. You cannot earn money in the underground of New York or Paris, but the opinion of the youngsters is very friendly. At a 10 hours work day Mikkola can earn as much as £30.
