Puritanerne satte kursen mod denne koloni, men de nåede aldrig Virginia.
De blev stået ud af kurs og landede syd for det, der i dag er Boston, og grundlagde en koloni, som de kaldte Plymounth Plantation.
Den første vinteri det nye land var hård og krævede ofre.
Ca. halvdelen af englænderne døde, men det lykkedes de overlevende at rydde skov og at komme på så god fod med nogle af indianerne, at de kunne købe frø af dem.

They were knocked out of the course and landed south for that there today is Boston, and founded a colony, which they called Plymouth Plantation.
The first winter in the new land was hard and takes its toll. Ca. the half of the Englishmen died, but it lykkedes the survivors to clear the forest and come på så god fod with some of the Indians that they could buy seeds from them.

The first winter in the new world was harsh and took its toll. About half of the Englishmen died, but the survivors succeeded in clearing the forest and making such good friends with some of the Indians that they could buy seeds from them.
