Tehy sold my sister
In the short story "they sold my sister" we meet a young Massai girl Naliki who when she was a 10-year-old. She decribes the time when her father sold her sister Nyamalo, Naliki was 10-year-old. And the whole story was for 2 years ago.
Naliki’s sister Nyamalo marries with a stranger she has never met and she has ends her school. She was forced to marry Ole Sirayo, he is rich man. Her brother Tumuko does not like that his sister has to be with a stranger, she does not need to study anymore. But the father does not want to listen to his children. After the wedding she has to live with Ole Sirayo’s parents. Naliki goes as well, but she could not stay there anymore after seeing her sister doing not like her husband. Naliki goes home and tells her parents about Nyamalo, and Nyamalo wishs to them die, then they forced her to marry with a stranger man, she do not like but try loving. A day Naliki hears her father talking to his friend Ole Timau about that he wants to marry her. She do not want to be sold to an old man that she do not even like, her sister was forced to do to marry, and she knows that her father will sell her to Ole Timau just as Nyamalo. So she wants to write to her brother Tumuko and hope he will help her other wise she runs away.
