Abstract
The study investigates spectrophotometry as a method to find the pKs value for methylred.
In the first step the pH value for dissolution three was found. Afterwards did we found the absorbans in the three dissolutions with the Vernier-Colorimeter. To find the pKs value we used a formula. The results in the formula was the absorbans and the pH.
In the databook the pKs value for methylred is 4.95. After our measurements and the calculation can we conclude our results for pKs in methylred is 5.37. This is an aberration on 8.44% from the databook.
Spectrophotometry is a much used and good method to measure absorbans in dissolutions. But is has also negative sides. It is a very exact instrument. So it is therefore highly important to keep it clean. When using the spectrophotometer you must always consider a possible risk for not so correct results. The history of the logarithm function and use of the slide-rule are shortly described.

Afterwards did = Afterwards
in the formula = of the formula
can we = we can
aberration on = deviation of
8.44% = 8.44 %
not so correct = incorrect
in the formula = of the formula
can we = we can
aberration on = deviation of
8.44% = 8.44 %
not so correct = incorrect
