jeg har skrev essay om en novella, hvis der nogen der kan kigge igennem ville det være meget sødt af dem.
prospect House
Many young people in who comes from the lower social chasses are caught up in a socially negative pattern. When someone grow up Without there parents, you are make op your rest life. You don\t get the parents love, there is no one can take care up you it\s only up to you how do you live.
Living in children’s home you most likely you most like a bond to living with the other children. You do not necessarily how to behave and how to respect other people. Some do manage to break the pattern, but some also just of their social fate as inevitable, and stay at the bottom of the society.
his short story is written by Frances Childs, first appeared in Harlot red, and was published by Serpent’s Tail in 2002. This short take place in England outside of London. In the story we are introduce to a girl with name Kim. She had caught hepatitis B and nasty venereal disease from a boy she sleeping with, and that was the result, that she can’t be longer in children home. She moved from a holiday home for deprived children where she has been working, end in prospect House a house for single teenage girls. Most of the girls weren’t there all that long, they get pregnant and moved to a home which called Sussex, which is a home for the young girls and there unwanted pregnancies‘. When Kim visited her friend Gina , hear we about Sussex house how it’s looked like inside. by the time I went to see Gina and Chantella at their dirty damp intuition with its peeling plaster walls and its smell of boiled cabbage, I wasn’t yellow anymore.
When she arrived too the prospect house, had she a had time to be friends with the other girls. The other girls was frightened of her yellow colour caused by her illness,
I thrown a knife at Di, not to really hurt her, more to see if I could get away with it and I had.
Kim uses her frightening yellow colour as a shield and weapon to do as she likes, without getting attacked or getting into trouble. When the time get, slowly the yellow colour were gone. When she wasn’t yellow anymore, she is a new
Person from the other girls, and they are now able to develop a friendship.
Suddenly she become rather a god friends with the other girls. The two girls, Kim been a good friends with, who name was Di Andrea.
Kim have a dream of playing Abigail in the show ’The Crucible’. she says that she has never wanted anything so much in her life. This also shows that Kim has not had a life without many “bright spot”
The three girl hadn’t really love in there life. Boys are just objects you go to bed with, and there are no real emotions involved. When Kim asked Di why she is sleeping with Rob ( a local boy, when he isn’t there Di and Andre laugh of him), she answered: “Better than nothing isn’t it” p, 21,58.
They want to be pregnant, it’s a exciting challenging, and that is why Di want to get pregnant. She doesn’t think about the child she might get, and if she is ready to become a mother.
After someday, Kim tell Andrea and Di about the play “ the Crucible’ which is going to performed. Kim goes to the audition, and as above-mentioned, she intensely wants the role as Abigail, which she compare herself to. She says:” As I read I Know that I’m Abigail. I know I am that girl, seething with desire, pushed into a world that cannot accommodate her. I know that am her, she who wants to make her own magic”….31, 105-108.
She says that she want to make her own magic”, as I interpret as she wants to change something in her life. In the end Kim’s dream come into reality. Di who probably ends her life up at Sussex House. At the prospect house Kim prospected for a better existence, and maybe Kim also become a good actor. As long the will is there one can achieve almost everything.
Kim promise to visit Di in the prospect house, and Di Andrea say that they will come to her every show, because they look up to her, and because she has achieved something on her own they see her as an example.
This way one can conclude that the themes in this short story are the social heritage, and one’s ability to break it and achieve your goals.
