'oppustet'

Her kommer den:

This fascination of the Whaler is quit interesting and incredibly essential in this story. The Whaler is figured as this hero-like role model for smaller boys and he is described as this strong, brave idol and as the significance of male identity. But this fascination fades more and more trough the story, where the Whaler reveals the lie of his life plus his affaire with the boy’s second role model, his teacher Mrs. Early. To be told about those two things matters really shocks the boy. He has now learned the ‘truth’ of life, you may say. By that he will be entrusted these two terrible lies, grows his consciousness and thus he also comes a step closer to the 'adult life', real life. And we are shown, in several symbolic ways that the narrator is losing its fascination and respect of The Whale. Every time they stand up, and the narrator hopes to be able to leave, the narrator is standing higher and higher, at the end higher that The Whale and it shows how the narrator looks more and more 'down' on him. And furthermore, the first time the narrator meets his great idol, the Whaler is sitting defeating. It’s not a very nice thing to observe and he may fell a bit insulted by seeing that. He learns that nobody is faultless, not even those you trust mostly. Those who seem most perfect are perchance those who are least. The narrator becomes disappointed and baffled over what he is told. He loses the faith in his two great role models in life. It is maybe a harsh way for the young boy to learn it on, but with these two secrets he actually learns a lot about life and human values.

This fascination of the Whaler is quite(sikkert bare en typo =) ) interesting and incredibly essential in this story. The Whaler is figured as this hero-like role model for smaller boys and he is described as this strong, brave idol and as the significance of male identity. But this fascination fades more and more trough the story, where (jeg ville nok bruge "as") the Whaler reveals the lie (lies?) of his life plus his affaire with the boy’s second role model, his teacher Mrs. Early. To be told about those two things, really shocks the boy. He has now learned the ‘truth’ of life, you may say. As he has been entrusted these two terrible lies (er det ikke snare en sandhed han har fundet ud af?), his consciousness grows  and he comes a step closer to the 'adult life' - the  real life (jeg ville nok skrive det sådan). We are shown, in several symbolic ways, that the narrator is losing his fascination and respect of The Whale(r?). Every time they stand up, and the narrator hopes to be able to leave, the narrator is standing higher and higher, at the end higher that The Whale(r?) and it shows how the narrator looks more and more 'down' on him. (Jeg forstår ikke helt sætningen =P) And furthermore, the first time the narrator meets his great idol, the Whaler is sitting defeated ("defeating" betyder at han er ved at "defeate" nogen). It’s not a very nice thing to observe and he may fell (her går jeg ud fra, at du mener feel?) a bit insulted by seeing that. He learns that nobody is faultless, not even those you trust most ("mostly" er mere noget i retning af "det meste af tiden"). Those who seem most perfect are perchance(perhaps?) those who are least. The narrator becomes disappointed and baffled over what he is told. He loses the faith in his two great role models in life. It is maybe a harsh way for the young boy to learn it on, but with these two secrets he actually learns a lot about life and human values. (Dette kunne godt undværes, du har ligesom være inde på det).

Jeg har desværre ikke tid til at rette din stil igennem, men jeg har da rettet dette stykke efter bedste evne. Dette er dog bare, hvordan jeg ville stille det op. =p
