How to fight terrorism is a great question in which it’s difficult finding a correct answer. Personally I’m against the
“war against terror”. I think it would be more effectively fight terrorism by understanding what motivates it and then
taking away the source of the anger? We should ask our enemy and ask “Why”? Instead of hunting Osama bin Laden's
al-Qaeda network and kill them for bringing the killers to justice. I agree on Robin Cook’s opinion to make a dialog with
the terrorists instead of going to war. A nation’s foreign policy is rarely changed within a single day. September 11th,
however, changed the direction and motivation of United States - and Denmark’s foreign policy in a matter of minutes.
After the collapse of the World Trade Center, terrorism became the number one priority in U.S. foreign policy, bbecause
terror has a huge consequence on a civilian’s life and their state of mind than a natural disaster could ever have.
The United States' overwhelming global dominance is extraordinary in human history and I think that many Muslims
fear the Americanization of their culture and especially their religion, and if we continue fighting against terrorism with
war it will in the end, only be when hope and compassion are delivered to the world's most dispossessed peoples and
when the two civilizations’ have come to an agreement, what’s it’s possible to talk of "winning" a war on terrorism. But
we have to face the fact that innocent people have been killed as part of acts of terrorism has moved closer and closer
to us – to Denmark.
