Identity

As a child was the narrator not rich.
He had big dreams of becoming a pilot and travels the whole world. He thought he would be happy if he travels the whole world and that he would know himself.
The narrator grows up and his dreams became fulfilled. He becomes a pilot and he has traveled around the world, but there is still something that haunts him, he is still not happy and he still do not know who he is as a person.

The text is based on the narrator tells briefly about his life, both as a child and as an adult.
The text's theme is identity. The narrator does not know his identity; he does not know who he is as a person.
As a child he comes from the lower middle class, but when he grows up and gets his dream job, which he thought would please him and show him the meaning of life. He becomes a pilot and becomes a part of the upper class environment.
I think the text is from the 80s or thereabouts, because the narrator has used many old words. There are some words that are not spells the same way that you misspell them today. For example “an airplane”, in the text the author spelled it on an old style of writing, “an airplane”.
There’re some few fairy-tale elements in the story for example, figure 3 is often mentioned in fairy-tales. Here in the story is the number 3 also used. When the narrator meet 3 different people in 3 different destinations, each one makes him realize something about life, so he gets 3 different advice about his life.

I think the end ends on a very bad way because he still has not figured out who he is, though he’s on track. He’s looking for”his door"; he will be on the other side of “that door”, because he knows that’s the only way he is going to find out who he is.
I want to know if he found what he sought or whether he ever going to find it.
