Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes: The final problem
In the short story”The last problem” Conan Doyle tells about how the invincible master detective Sherlock Holmes finally meets his fate. In 1893 Conan Doyle become was fed up with produce several and several excitements books with same main character, but he has properly realizes that there would come an international outcry if he allowed himself to let an ordinary criminal beat Holmes.
He tried therefore to find a worthy opponent and a remarkable beauty and dramatizes setting, so the hero could meet the death during the solution of a exciting matter without it actual damage his reputation and with that the books popularity.
During a trip in Switzerland some years earlier Doyle became very impresses at the waterfall “Reichenbachfall” by Meiringen, where some enormous water masses with a roar fall vertical down in a inconceivable abyss. As is evident from the above quotation the author does not spare on the effects, when he shall visualizes the place, where he will let Holmes fall down in the depth during the fight with Dr Moriarty, the incomparable criminal brain and the society’s enemy number one. Like the modern Dr No is Moriarty definitely not a handsome man, but he has a strong charisma and a dazzling funeral. Holmes calls him the crimes Napoleon and recognizes him as his intellectual equal. It is like that no shame that Holmes becomes outwitted and hurled into the abyss, but in the other hand the climax of his career that he pulls Moriarty with him in death.

2. Fjern "about" i den første linje, -foran "how the invincible...."
