In discussions about increased surveillance the statement ’Nothing to hide – nothing to fear’
is often heard. Please discuss this statement.
Can anybody tell me how I can discuss this statement..?

On one hand you could argue that if you are not doing anything wrong, then why should you have a problem with cameras in the street, or tabs on your cell phone. The police do an important job and we all have to sacrifice our freedom to some degree so we can all be safe. On the other hand you could argue that increased surveillance is such a fundemental breach of our human rights that, no matter what happens, nothing can justify the increasing invasion which is occuring in our lives.
