Dear Winston

Now that I've been here a while, I would like to tell you what I think about America and Americans.
I hate big cities such. Washington DC, New York and Chicago. I hate violence, which is occurring more frequently in the U.S. than in England. I love the great deserts, the vast forests, high mountains. I love the U.S. natural when it is untouched by humans. But like so many other Brits, I think Americans have a bad taste. They go with terrible clothes and eat nasty food. This may seem irrelevant, but I do not think it is. Clothes and food are two essential aspects of a culture. Americans also believe that everything can be bought, their communities are too commercial. Happiness is bigger than a car, a heated pool, a data-driven kitchen, color TV in all rooms, electric toothbrushes and knives. However, I do like the Americans because they are friendly and tolerant. I admire them because their scientists have helped mankind. I also like them because they seem energetic and happy, and I particularly liked them because the modern women's liberation began in America. I have been critical of my letter. Actually, I think better for America than one might think.
