Hej allesammen.

My trip to Verona was an exciting and overwhelming trip. I got to see both sides of the Italian community and two things really surprised me – the family life and the school.
When you travel to a foreign country you are supposed to learn something new and I learned a lot that I will never forget!

First of all I learned to be grateful for the life I have here in Denmark. I have many more options than them and even though they may not get an education after high school they still work hard in all those years.
The high school in Italy takes 5 years.
At the same time my Italian friend, Sylvia, had to leave at 6.10 a.m. every single morning, Saturday included, because she had to catch the bus. And when she got home at 3.00 p.m. she had to eat lunch and make her homework. She was very hard-working.
I was exhausted every single day because of the long days and I could not believe she had been doing this for the last 5 years. That scares me.
The family life in Italy is a very different. In Denmark men and women are almost equal and both women and men work. In Italy most women are not working – they stay home the whole day. It is their job to clean the house and make lunch and dinner. In my Italian family only the father was working. And every day he came home from work around 12 to get his lunch – then he left again. In the mean time the mother had made the beds in the entire house and cleaned. In the evening the mother had to make the dinner ready -every single day. And when she was not cooking or cleaning she would sit in her garden chair in the kitchen and watch television. Her only purpose on planet is to serve her husband. That sounds like Denmark in the 40’s or 50’s so I was really shocked to see that it still exists.

The Italian trip was a great experience and I will remember it forever. I got some great friendships with both the Danish and the Italian students and I learned some new things about life.
I think it is important to get out and see the world with your own eyes and experience the things yourself, because a lot can be learned from television or the internet but you can only judge it from your own experience.

Har ikke fundet ret meget. Her er nogle enkelte ting..

She had to do her homework

I stedet for "She was very hard-working" ville jeg skrive "she was a very hard-working girl". Synes det lyder bedre.
"they stay at home the whole day" eller: the entire day

In the mean time the mother had made the beds in the entire house and cleaned. Tror ikke cleaned kan stå uden objekt. Skriv hellere "cleaned the house" eller noget andet bagefter. For ikke at bruge ordet "house" to gange her, skal du nok slette "in the entire house" før "cleaned"
