Some of the advantages using the Beckhams in marketing could be that they already are icons and has many fans. They are fashion trend setters and also acknowledge in the clothing trade. That they wear and use are becoming the hottest trend. As an example to that, I can mention David Beckhams football boots. These has become best sellers all over the world. Not because of the mark, but for the reason the Beckham plays in them. The price is about 4 times higher then on other football boots but that doesn’t matter.
A disadvantages could been that because of their popularity it’s extremely expensive getting them to join the campaign. David and his manager Simon Fuller chooses only the best offers. Another disadvantages or advantages are, if they do anything wrong or make an unlucky statement. The negative part of it is, that it will be mentioned in every known media. TV, newspapers, magazines, radio and so long. Everybody will get to known. In some affairs it will make all the fans disappear, and then all the money on marketing is lost. An ex. on how it can be a advantages is Eric Cantona, when he once kicked and beaded a spectator in the middle of a football match. His sponsor earned a lot of money because of that. He was now famous and wellknown.
