It was Miss Adelaide Miethke´s idea in 1946 that children could have their school lessons over the RFDS radio network. The idea of the School Of The Air was born then she noticed how fast the outback children lean to use RFDS network. But they needed stronger transmitters. It took seven years to make them, but in the 1951 the first outback children's, hear real teaches lessons. Before they could teach via transmitters, they sent their school post by means of post. Now there are 10 schools in the air networks. They help to educate about 1200 school children. They are between 4 and 12 years. The 10 schools covers over 400,000 square kilometers. They had about half an hour radio time, 3 times in a week. They also have about 10 minutes private radiotime with the teacher and the other students so they can lean each others. It´s like a normal break, in a normal school. If they have an English lesson they take turns to talk an read. They have also tests like if they would in regular school. In this kind of schools it´s very important to make social events, or camps because the students get to know each other more. She realized that the network could be used in other ways, as school material. Until the 1950s, children living in remote communities would either have to attend a boarding school, or complete their lessons by mail. That meant that the students either separated from their family and friends, or that they have no separated with the other students and teachers. Today’s outback students, no longer have to use the pedal-powered radios. They use high frequency radio transceivers, colloquially HF radio transceivers, to receive their lessons.  A transceiver is an another type of radio, that allows the user to send and receive messages. That lead to that the students can talk to the teacher and the other classmates. The schools of the air covers all the same curriculum as any other normal schools, so outback students are not disadvantaged. In fact, teachers try to individualize the lessons, so the teaching benefit the individual pupil. Student who are gifted or those with learning difficulties are specially catered for, and given individual learning opportunities. That is one of the tings that make the School Of The Air good and difficult from other normal schools. Mt Isa SOA is one of the many outback schools, and  today the school has child's from the preschool to year 10. Each preschool student receives one half-hour lesson per week, and the years 1–7 students receive one half-hour on air lesson every day. Students also use HF to daily communication with their classmates and sometimes the teacher. Students in years 4–10 also have the opportunity to attend a school camp with their classmates every year. Mt Isa SOA school is not the only school like this, many schools supports the same concept as the Mt Isa SOA school does.

Husk mellemrum. Hvad mener du "by means of post", er "mail" et bedre ord? Lav mellemrum mellem "radiotime". Hvad mener du med lean, er learn eller teach et bedre ord? Skriv "and" istedet for "an". Brug "benefits" istedet for "benefit". Det staves "on-air". Skriv "Students".

Ikke alt i teksten er lige let forståeligt.
