Hey allesammen. Har lavet en outline og en diskussion om emnet plastik operationer for teenagere.
Håber nogen af jer vil kigge den igennem og se om der er nogle grammatiske fejl.
Outline
Different views are presented in both texts. Valerie Ulene presents her view on the subject as well as experts do.
In 2007, 330,000 underwent cosmetic procedures. The most popular were nose jobs, breast augmentation, ear reshaping and liposuction. One of the reasons to why American teens get cosmetic procedures is the big pressure they face to be attractive. Images of pretty men and women are all over the place. This also has a connection with teenagers’ self-esteem. Plastic surgeons say that the plastic surgery can influence how they behave and how they feel about themselves. A big nose or a flat chest can be a source of teasing among teenagers. However, no well-desgined studies proves that cosmetic surgery changes teenagers’ quality of life, but most of the teenagers begin to feel better as the years go by because the different bodies continue to mature. Girls gain weight and boys grow muscular. Dr. John Canedy, president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons has no doubt that a group of teens can be helped by cosmetic surgery as long as you select them carefully.
However, Camille Sweeney takes a bit different view on plastic surgery for teenagers. At the age of 15 a girl named Kristen “just wanted to look normal.” By that she meant that she wasn’t a real woman because of her flat chest. Her mother and older sister had received breast implants and as a graduation gift from her parents she also underwent a breast surgery.
Parents have a new responsibility. Their children are barraged with images of fake ideal men and women and it can be hard for parents to say no to plastic surgery for their child if they can see how their self-esteem effect their lives.
Discuss
I have different views on plastic surgery for teenagers. On one hand I find it ridiculous because of the teenagers’ awareness on their own lives. They get brainwashed from TV-shops, fake images of models and so on. They can regret their surgery after a few years and these kind of surgery are not cheap. I also think that the children’s parents have a big responsibility. If one of their children feels bad because his friends tease him at school the parents must take a serious conversation with their child and tell him or her how they can avoid getting teased. However, I don’t think that the surgery should be banned for most teenagers. A surgery can easy affect a teenagers’ life in a good direction but the awareness is important. They must be sure about their decision and have their parents’ support. Most important is that teenagers let their body to mature and then decide whether they want a surgery or don’t.
