Mountaineers without oxygen.

To climb a mountain without oxygen equipment is like riding a bike race on a motorcycle – You win off course, but it´s not worth the same is it?
The statement comes from Søren Smidt, who manages nine Danish mountaineers attempt on reaching the Dhaulagiri Mountain top over 8000 metres up in the Nepalese Himalaya. After two and a half years preparations the team is ready to department Sunday the 17. March.
“We will climb the world’s seven highest mountain without oxygen equipment, because oxygen equipment is just a way of cheating yourself. It makes the mountain smaller, because the physical challenge is dependent or whether or not there is oxygen. 8000 metres, for example, becomes just the same as 6000 metres, and then we could just as well settle for a smaller mountain.” Explaines the expedition’s leader.
Daily the Danish mountaineers have to seek to Kullen in Sweden or even better to the Alps to practise their hobby and stay in shape.
