Dear Alma

It isn't often, unfortunately, that I write letters to you, it’s long time ago but many things happen in the mean time.
I have to admit that sometimes I want to be in Ireland sitting with you in a bar an enjoying a Guiness. I still laugh every time I think of us that night, where we were totally stupid and all the things we did.. :) Anyway Alma I have two stories I want you to hear about. The first is very sad and it’s my husband Piet. He died by an accident, where he broke his neck at the Pampoenfontein gymkhana. It’s very hard for a woman to put up with such conditions. But there’s something that hold me back to travel home again, that I’m in love with a black guy Alma! It has been a problem before, because I am white and he’s black. I hate this segregation here, it’s simply tantalizingly, but I admit that love break this agonizing segregation. I got 7 suitors (all white men) that want me or my money; they tell me that a woman can’t manage life alone here in SA, but I’m sure they want my money even if they don’t mentioned it. I act like I want them, so I got inspired from the story Cinderfella, where I suggest the shoes and say: “Whoever fits those shoes, have med and all that I own.”
There was just something, those shoes fits Sam the black guy. I did it on purpose, so I am with Sam now, to show all the people the new South Africa, where we can live with together white and black.
