Ed Jackson from Texas is condemned to life imprisonment for armed robbery. He was arrested after being identified on the picture of his driving license. Ed Jackson is 26 years old. He is educated as engineer and has been on his own since he left High School. Two years ago he married one of his classmates, and now he is the father of a one year old girl. We have got permission to talk with him in the prison. He turned out to be a quiet black man, who calmly enters the room and sits down to talk with us. He tells how it was said in court that he had a criminal past, which not was true at all. He means that it comes from a report of him, which a 68-year old lady had sent in. She had found it suspicious, that he often sat by him elf and read in the park where she walked everyday herself. She felt, she had to go to the police when there was committed a robbery in a restaurant close by. He was judged, even though there were given a testimony about that he was on work when the robbery took place. Ed Jackson leans back in the chair and sits in silence for a moment, before he continues by telling that his barrister left him when it turned up that all his money were spend. Ed Jackson adds that he feels grateful that NAACP now has assigned a lawyer to work on his appeal case. He believes that justice will wind in the end.
