Land of the Lost
The short story is written by Stewart O’Nan in 2009.
The genre is epic and it could happen in real life.
     The story is about a woman who lives alone with her dog, Ollie. The woman is trying to find a kidnapped and killed girl, who has been missing about two years ago. First she followed the case in the news paper and on TV, but when she finds out that the body is buried west of Kingsville, she looks for the body there.
     The problem in the story is the main character is keen on finding the body and show people that she is not crazy “Then everyone would know she wasn’t crazy, l. 141-142”.
     The main character is a woman; we don’t really hear about her and don’t know her name. She lives with her dog in Perry. She was married and she has two sons. She is a cashier in a supermarket called BI-LO. She lives alone with her dog, Ollie, who is a German shepherd.
One of her sons called Brian, who is the oldest “l. 89-90 and l. 138”. If she got a idea, she go after it and don’t stop before she finds what she is looking for, like when she tries to find the body in two and half years “l. 74”.
The murder, who killed the girl, called James Wade “l. 6-7”.
