Michael Laudrup
As a starting point, Michael Laudrup was one of the greatest football player, ever! – in my opinion.
He was born the 15 June 1964, and he had a healthy childhood. He grew up, in a football family, as his dad – Finn laudrup, also played football, and his influence rubbed off onto the rest of the family. Both Michael and his younger brother – Brian Laudrup began, playing football, following in their fathers footsteps. Michael Laudrup's football skill was obvious already at the tender age of seven years old, and nurtured correctly could go on to play at the highest level. There was not doubting his talent, and Finn Laudrup always fully supported his son in his efforts to improve. Michael Laudrup began his professional career in vanløse, however this was to smaller club, for his huge and improving talent, so after short time playing for vanløse, he left them, searching for greener pastures, so he started playing in Brøndby. He used the time in Brøndby to show how skilful he really was and that’s how he became very popular and sought after by many international clubs. He went to Juventus, at first, and was loaned to Lazio, until he again came back to Juventus. Then after he took to Barcelona, then Real Madrid and then he did a very strange move, leaving the relatively big club like Real Madrid, and joining Vissel Kobe, which is a little club in Japan. Finally, he ended his career in Ajax Amsterdam and, like the big player he was, he helped Ajax win the league.
The most famous time in his club career was when he played for Barcelona in the Spanish league. It was absolutely the most successful time in his career. Because he was a big necessity for the club and because they needed to force their creative playing, and there was therefore a lot of expectations on Michael Laudrup, exactly because of his creative playing moves. He became very important for the team; they had “the magic years”, as they called them, where they won the league 4 times running and with Michael Laudrup as a important part of their basic playing for victory. He then had some problems with the club and with the way they treated him so he changed to rivals Real Madrid, and changed from a hero among the supporters in Barcelona, to be the worst player that ever had played there.
Besides all this, Michael Laudrup has of course, also played for the Danish national team, and he had his debut for Denmark In 1982 as 18 years old, against Norway, and he scored also a debut goal. And then he played his final match for Denmark in 1998 in the world cup match against Brazil. He reached to score 37 goals for Denmark, and mated allot of passes to the other players, so they could score.
Today Michael Laudrup is coach for Brøndby, which he is doing great. Besides all these mastery’s, has Michael Laudrup also get allot of prizes. He has been choose as the best player in Denmark in 1982 and 1985, together with the best player in 1992 in Spain, and the best foreigner in Spain, in 1992 and 1993. Unfortunately he has never won the prize, as the world’s best football player, and that’s a scandal. Besides his coach job, plays Michael laudrup some funny football at the old boys team, in lyngby. In his spare time, he is very interested in wine and he has a little firm with import of wine.
Michael Laudrup was most known, because of his great technique, his playmaking, and his fantastic general view all over the field, and he will always be a legend in the clubs he had played in.
I think Michael Laudrup is a legend, because he is the only Danish football player ever who has become world famous for his footballing ability.
At the same time, he is the only Danish football player, where I can look at his name and be proud to be a Dane. He is a great symbol of a footballer and he will always be in my mind.
Calling Elvis
Then we also have read a text, about one of the biggest figures of our music culture, and who really has formed basis of allot of the music, existing today. The person we are talking about is Elvis. Elvis was born in the year 1935, and actually he was born into a very poor family in Mississippi. Besides that they were pretty poor, they also were members of the local church, which they attended every Sunday. So this meant, that he grew up in a very religious family, filled with religious meetings, big crowds of people and gospel singers. All this put together really effected Elvis, and influenced him, to make that kind of music he later did. By the middle – 50’s Elvis was singing just to earn some money, but then his big talent gave him a contract with sun records. Hereafter he made some concerts, and the normal country western music was pushed behind Elvis’s very “wild” and shaking music, which did that the country western musicians, didn’t like him. However almost everybody liked him, and he became very famous and popular, actually he was a legend in his own time, and was called “the king”. Even through Elvis’ career was small, and other bands – like Beatles took the music throne from him, Elvis is still seen as the king, of rock and roll. And am sure about, that if Elvis, didn’t had show the world how music also can sound, we wouldn’t have the same large music culture, as we have today.
The Beatles
We have also read some texts about different kind of legends. And when we are talking about legends, we just can’t get around “the Beatles”. “The Beatles” were a band existing of 4 young men from Liverpool, whose set on the music, back in the early 1960’s. And with their long brown hair and both charm and raw music, they became world famous, especially by young girls. Besides that they became world famous, and played some good music, they also tried to make a better world, where the word differently didn’t exist. For example , when they were touring around in U.S.A, they didn’t want to play in segregated places. They were a very important part, of the more free music stiles come. And even that the competition was very hard in the 1960’s, they survived, and are still this day today a popular band.
