There are many bad translated ads, but some of the worst one, are fore example the one, where an airline had an advert translated into Arabic. But when a local manager asked a Saudi travel agent how he liked it, he said that it was good, and especially the part about the restaurant. The translator had a brother with a restaurant, and instead of an airline advert, he had more make it sounds like an advert for a restaurant in the translated advert. Right now in this moment, we also have a very bad translated advert, about a washing powder named “Vanish” in Denmark. In the vanish adverts the way how the people move their mouths, do not fit the voices. This makes it feel very unreliable for the viewers, and contributory to make the advert very bad. Or example the Nike slogan “just do it”, which was translated in France to “your life is your own”

1) husk, at komma-reglerne på englesk er ikke samme som på dansk. De har dog tilfælles 'indskudtsætning-reglen'

Sådan her ville jeg skrive det:

However, when a local manager inquired a Saudi travel agent about his perception of the ad, the agent told him he liked it. Especially the part about the restaurant.

The translator had a brother with a restaurant, which was the reason why the advert was more like an advert for a restaurant than an advert for an airline company.

Poorly translated adverts are not only a foreign phenomenon. At the moment, the detergent advert "Vanish" is shown on Danish television on an occasional basis.

This is a perfect example of a TV advert where words do not match lip movement any way whatsoever.

The lack of synchronization only contributes to the advert emerging dishonest and unreliable.

Another example is Nike's slogan "just do it", which in France was translated into "your life is your own".
