But it was not only a national event; it was also an international event. People, all over the world were watching (TV) when the Apollo 11 with astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin descended and landed on the moon. One of the most memorable phrases ever said, is said by the Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong. As he climbed down the ladder from the Apollo 11 to reach the lunar surface, he declared: “One small step for man, one big leap for mankind”. To “translate” his sentence declared in a very poetic moment, he means that for a man it was a small step (only a few steps down the ladder), but for mankind itself it was a big step because we’ve managed to get to the moon, we have managed to “climb” the space (moon) – “because it is there”.

Ja, tænkte også lidt over om jeg skulle bruge "oversætte" eller "fortolke". Men mange tak for hjælpen. :)

Så vidt jeg ved skal det være 'one giant leap for mankind' ;-) ikke big.
