Studieretningsprojekt/-opgave (SRP/SRO)

Patients with cancer are treated with chemo- and radiation therapy, which not only affects the tumor, but also the healthy cells, which also greats seriously side effects.
The purpose of this paper is, to estimate if you by taking bismuth counteract the side effects from the toxicity of chemo- and radiation therapy, and also to estimate if bismuth allows you to increase the dose of chemo- and radiation therapy, without increase the toxicity at the same time, so a cure can be a reality.
Metallothionein (MT) protects the cells and increase the cells survival and resistance (I forbindelse med) chemo- and radiation therapy. That’s why MT is favourable in the healthy cells.
Research shows, that the mineral bismuth increases the concentration of MT in only the healthy cells, and not in cancer cells.
My examination includes patients, who receive intensive chemo- and radiation therapy. Some patients receive treatment with bismuth, and the others receive the (uvirksomme) placebo.
Spot tests, which include blood test, are taking, and the question is; can we out from the spot tests conclude, whether there is a different on the side effect from chemo- and radiation therapy from patients who are taking bismuth, and from patients who are taking placebo?
I have choosing to use the two ways ANOVA-method, and to be able to decide whether the deviation is too comprehensive, the significance level is set to 0,05. I have in this paper only focused on patients with lymphoma and leukemia, but if my hypothesis turns out to be correct, you will also be able to use bismuth in treatments to other types of cancer.

På forhånd tak for hjælpen :)

Patients with cancer are treated with chemo- and radiation therapy, which not only affects the tumor, but also the healthy cells, which causes great side effects.

The purpose of this paper is to estimate if you, by taking bismuth, counteract the side effects from the toxicity of chemo- and radiation therapy, and also to estimate if bismuth allows you to increase the dose of chemo- and radiation therapy, without increase the toxicity at the same time, so a cure can be a reality.
Metallothionein (MT) protects the cells and increase the cells survival and resistance (I forbindelse med) combined with (?) chemo- and radiation therapy. That’s why MT is favourable in the healthy cells.
Research shows, that the mineral bismuth increases the concentration of MT in only the healthy cells, and not in cancer cells.
My examination includes patients, who receive intensive chemo- and radiation therapy. Some patients receive treatment with bismuth, and the others receive the (uvirksomme) ineffective placebo.
Spot tests (which include blood test) are taken, and the question is; can we from the spot tests conclude, whether there is a difference(eller måske change(ændring)?) in the side effect from chemo- and radiation therapy from patients who are taking bismuth, and from patients who are taking placebo?
I have choosen to use the two ways ANOVA-method, and to be able to decide whether the deviation is too comprehensive, the significance level is set to 0,05. In this paper, I have chosen to focus only on patients with lymphoma and leukemia, but if my hypothesis turns out to be correct, you will also be able to use bismuth in treatments of other types of cancer.

Er lidt svært når jeg ikke fatter halvdelen af det XD (bismuth?) XD

Tak for hjælpen :D

Ja min SRP er også skrevet udfra et forskerprojekt jeg har været med i, så det er hel ny forskning, nok derfor du ikke kender til det :)

Jeg har hørt at et abstract skal være objektivt, så prøv ikke at skrive "my".
