As you wish! Ja selfølgelig mumliggør det at flere kan rette den, selv om folk ikke er så vilde med et sådan "større projekt". Her får du den ihvertfald:

Sandy and Her Beautiful Sisters

The short story “Sandy and Her Beautiful Sisters” has got many similarities to the well-known fairy tale “Cinderella”, and the writer of the story has also probably had the fairy tale in mind when he wrote this story. The obvious part is the fact that she lives with two elder sisters, whom in this story are more beautiful than her in their physical appearance, and her father has remarried a woman. The comment “shaken, but not stirred”(line 13) is a bit ironic, because it is taken from James Bond’s motto. This is just one example of the many ironical comments that we meet in this short story. Sandy and Cinderella are denied from having a social life with boyfriends because of their physical appearance – and the older sisters take advantage of their situation. They leave the domestic tasks to their younger sisters – and as a result of that Sandy and Cinderella become firmly locked to their roles as caretakers of the house instead of having fun, meeting other people, and developing their personality, as young women would normally do.
The last sentence as quoted, is the message in the story: “Two of them were beautiful and the third had everything she wanted in life”(lines 229-230) Being beautiful is not all, and it is not possible to base a life upon that. As opposed to her two sisters, Sandy has achieved something in life, and she has become more independent. They on the other hand depend on her washing their clothes, and cooking – actually they do not even know something as simple as how to cook an egg. Even though they are older than Sandy, it seems the other way around. Sandy acts more responsible by having a job where as they just stay at home, and basically act like teenagers. They would be lost without her. She leaves them crying “What will happen to us?”(line 227). She does not get anything in return for her good intended deeds. Sandy has not really noticed the fact they might use her, but her boss Mrs. Fairey tells her that they are just treating her as their little slave, which seems quite true. It is also the case in “Cinderella” where she is treated as their slave, even though the sisters in this story not are mean to her, but rather ignorant and superficial.
Sandy’s relationship to Mrs. Fairey is sort of a mother-daughter relationship. She really cares for her, and is the substitute for the mother that she never really had. Even though the spelling is not the same, the writer has chosen the name for Mrs. Fairey with a purpose. She is sort of a fairy for Sandy – she gives her confidence, by telling her that she is beautiful, a great cook, and worth much more than she thinks. Sandy listens to her compliments, but is ignorant to her sisters’ rather superficial compliments upon her looks.. In the opening of the short story Sandy does not realize her beauty. She is surrounded by her beautiful sisters, and she sees that the outcome of them being beautiful is that they get attention from the opposite sex. Sam Prince changes her lack of confidence with the sentence “like a Boticelli”. When Sandy becomes aware of her inner beauty, she is like a flower that blossoms in the spring
In general the use of names serve a purpose. Sam Prince, whom Mrs. Fairey also set Sandy a date up with, is the rescuer on the white horse. He has got it all: the great looks, and a great deal of money, just like a fairy tale prince. Like “Cinderella” the elder sisters both have a relationship with the prince, or at least adore him, but to their surprise their baby sister is the “lucky” girl, and gets her prince.
The matter of physical appearance is a relevant subject for more or less anyone, especially for teenagers, who of the mix of hormones and lack of confidence hit the records on focusing upon their looks. People say that the inner beauty is more important than the outside, and that it does not matter whether you look good or not as long as you have got a great personality, but it is basically just a façade. To focus only on the inner beauty is the way it should be, but unfortunately it is rarely the case. The first impression of someone is their physical appearance, and it is easier to find a partner or even a job if you are beautiful. Job applications often have to include photos, which also is an indicator of how important our looks are. The media also carries a great deal of responsibility. They give us the ideal and perfect Barbie doll illusion of how we are supposed to look. Several commercials indicate that beauty leads to happiness, and even though we do not want to admit it, we believe them, as we buy their products.
Even though the physical appearance is the first thing we notice, we would not be able to live with someone who did not have a personality, but more like an empty book, and then the looks would not matter. To have a deformed nose or a bigger belly than the majority, does not make one a loser. In the teen years we are very sensible, and bullying plays a huge part in the lack of self-esteem, but by time, we learn that there are things, such as making a career and having a family are more important in life.

Tak fordi du ville tage din tid!

Her er min rettelse (har

The short story "Sandy and Her Beautiful Sisters" shares many similarities with the Brothers Grimm's "Cinderella".

Sandy, like Cinderella, lives with her two elder sisters and is denied any social life.

As with Cinderella, Sandy's elder sisters leave her to do the domestic tasks.

Consequently, Sandy serves as a house caretaker instead of going to meet new people as women her age normally do.

Her sisters simply tell her she is not beautiful enough to date.

Although she is not as beautiful as her sisters, Sandy is much more independent.

As opposed to her twi sisters, she washes their clothes and cooks the meals.

Her sisters are actually not even capable of boiling an egg.

Although her sisters are older, Sandy is the one responsible for making her sisters' lives easier.

She has a job so her sisters can stay home and basically live like teenagers. They would be lost without her. But what does she get in return? Nothing.

Sandy has not even realized that her sisters abuse her. However, her boss, mrs. Fairey, opens her eyes to the fact that her sisters treat her badly.

Mrs. Fairey really cares for Sandy and is sort of the mother Sandy has never had.

She boosts Sandy's confidence in herself by telling her that she is beautiful, a great cook and worth much more than she thinks.

This helps Sandy (to) ignore her sisters stupid comments on her looks. This was impossible for Sandy at the beginning of the story.

However, mrs. Fairey is not the only one to boost Sandy's confidence in herself.

When Sam Prince on a date arranged by mrs. Fairy comments on her beauty, Sandy is like a flower that blossoms in spring.
