´´So much water so close to home´´ and ´´they’re not your husband´´ are to different stories written by one author named Raymond Carver. So much water so close to home, is a story which mentions four friends who are out for fishing. Underway one of them found a dead body in a sea. It’s a woman. They didn’t review it to the police. Instead one of them tied the corpse to a three and next morning they left the place. When Stuart reached home Claire notices that something was wrong. Claire kept an eye on Stuart’s behavior. He was staring at something in the room. He looked at Claire and looked away. He was very angry and irritated. I would say he is nervous and is hiding something. I think he is afraid that maybe Claire would find out what happened yesterday. The second story is about a marriage couple named Earl and Doreen. Doreen is working in a café and Earl is salesman. One day some men recorded Doreen as an overweight woman and Earl headed that. Earl advised her to lose few pounds. Doreen loosed few pounds but this time her colleges at the work were talking about that she no longer looked like herself. At that time Earl said they are not your husband. No matter where in the world you are if you see a dead body it’s your duty to inform the police. In that case it’s not you fishing tour which is important. For me it’s not understandable why these four friends didn’t inform the police. I would rather call that a stupidly act. That shows how low people can sink humanly. The dead woman body belongs to an afro American family. The four friends act could be connected to the racism. I think they had called the police if it was a white dead body. We have seen what black people in United States have been troughs. Race discrimination and race segregation in United Nations have been spread earlier.  I think the reaction from the four friends wives were not strong enough. When the afro family got the message they called the four friends for psychopaths. Of course there were conflicts between the all couple. We saw also one of the friends beaten Stuart. Stuart abused many times and couldn’t control himself. I think the all wives don’t have any respect for their men anymore. The men have broken their trust.
