Nogen der kan spotte fejl i det nedstående? har rettet det jeg kan. Tak på forhånd :)

- The poem Holy Thursday S.O.E is also one of William Blake’s illustrated collections of poems. The poem begins with many rhetorical questions, which evokes strong and emotional feelings.

- The setting takes place during a traditional Charity School service at St. Paul’s Cathedral, which is an institution, who takes care of orphaned and abandoned children in London. The children are celebrating “Holy Thursday” in the poem, also known as Ascension Day, which is celebrated on the 40th day of Easter after the resurrection of Christ. On this day the innocent faces (orphans) walks into the cathedral in pairs dressed in intense colors guided by the “grey headed beadles: "The Children walking two & two in red & blue & green" (Stanza 1, verse 2). The children’s intense colors symbolizes love (red), divinity (blue), hope (green) and the industrialization (grey).

- While the children are carried along by the current of their innocent faith, we can interpret that the church is treating the poor children badly and suppressing them: "Grey headed beadles walkd before with wands as white as snow" (stanza 1, line 3) they are guiding them to the church with their 'wands', which is used to hit, discipline or dictate with.

- They both feel that the children’s lives is miserable and therefore are their individuality, creativity, innocence destroyed.  The society is making their life poor by not taking care of the orphans instead it makes them starve
