It was a sunny day on the west coast in San Francisco. Over 40.000 people were there to support their team, San Francisco Giants. I was the captain, we played against our rivals, New York Highlanders also known as the Yankees. The score was 4-4 and it was the lastround. I was the next one to swing the bat. There was timeout, my trainer shouted loud right up in my head. It all depended on me. I was getting very nervous. My hand started shaking and I could feel my heartbeat punching hard inside my chest, I took a deep breath.Their pitcher, the man who throws the ball, was the best in the US. My first thought was that it was impossible. I could feel the sweat running down my forehead. My girlfriend sat at the front row, she smiled to me, and that one single small thing could change my mood in a heartbeat. I was ready now. The referee blew in his whistle and everybody took their positions(?) on the big green baseball field. Matt Daley, the pitcher, looked at me with an evil smile. It was the longest 40 seconds in my life; if I hit the ball we will win the league, but if I do not, then our biggest rivals will win. He threw the first strike…I missed, which wasn't good for my confidence. The ref yelled: ”Strike 1!”. My legs started to shake, two chances left. I looked after my girlfriend, but I couldn't see her, and suddenly he had already thrown the ball before I was ready. ”Strike 2!”, yelled the ref. ”Damn!”, I said to myself. The supports were yelling at me. Last chance, I need to be ready now. Matt threw the ball! All the sounds and voices in my head disturb me, I swung the bat, there it was! I could hear the sound of the ball and the bat slammed together. The ball flew like it was weightless, 142 meter! It was
insane, new personal record, but the best thing was that we won the league and it was all on me. That was the best day of my life.
