Er der nogen der vil være søde at hurtigt kigge min engelsk oversættelse igennem? Har lavet parenteser omkring det jeg er usikker på..
The smell of cigars
My mother smokes cigars. I hate the smell of cigars. The cigar smoke makes me cough and gives me (a) headache. Every time the tears run down my cheeks, she says that I am (being) hysterical. She also claims that many people smoke more than she does.
My father never joins in on the discussion, but tries to hide his pipe behind his newspaper. My sister always leaves the living room, (when the smoke gets to thick). She and I both know that doctors say that it is dangerous to smoke – even for those, who do not smoke themselves. No one is safe, ´cause smoking also causes lung cancer among non-smokers.

Ikke meget i vejen med dine ord og sætninger i paranteser. When the smoke gets _too_ thick, er det eneste. Dvs. to skal være too. Skriv i øvrigt because helt ud, du vil få fejl for 'cause.
Sidste sætning er i øvrigt ikke videnskabeligt bevist, nå men det var en sidebemærkning ;-)

Hedder det: cigar smoke makes me cough and gives me (a) headache?
Eller bare: cigar smoke makes me cough and gives me headache?
I den danske tekst står der: Hun siger, at jeg er hysterisk.
Skal jeg oversætte sådan:
She says that I am (being) hysterical?
Eller: she says that I am hysterical
Eller bare: cigar smoke makes me cough and gives me headache?
